The BCLA is pleased to announce the theme for the 2005 Summer Reading Club:

UnderCover Reader!

This year's illustrator is Kim LaFave whose books include: Amos's Sweater, Doggerel, I Am Small, Big Ben, A Very Unusual Dog, and many more...

Kim has won The Governor General's Award for Children's Illustration, The Ruth Swartz Children's Book Award and The Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Medal for "Amos's Sweater", written by Janet Lunn and illustrated by Kim. His latest book "A Very Unusual Dog" is short-listed for the 2004 Governor General's Award in the Children's Illustration catagory. See Kim's website.

Materials will include reading record; stickers; poster; bookmarks; completion medals; children's website with literacy game; as well as novelty items and a librarian's programme manual.
