TIPS FOR PARENTS
Dear Parents:
This year your local public library, in cooperation
with the British Columbia Library Association and B.C.'s Ministry of
Education is sponsoring a summer reading program called Extreme
Reading.
Summer reading programs encourage children to read for fun and to
maintain reading skills during the summer months. Studies have shown that library reading programs
are helpful in maintaining reading and learning skills during the summer holidays.
This year's program, Extreme
Reading will help them develop a regular reading habit, refine
their reading skills, and most of all, make reading fun! There will
be something for everyone.
Extreme Reading
provides an opportunity to explore your child's individual interests
and establish regular family reading times. We know we can help you
and your child discover the world around them, but we need your help.
We encourage you to support your child's participation in this program.
Please contact your local public library for
more information. Thank you for your support!
